About Sam Dupont
Sam duPont serves as Senior Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator Chris Coons of Delaware, where he handles the Senator\'s work on finance, banking, commerce, small business, and other economic policy issues. In his previous role, Sam was Deputy Director of the Digital Innovation and Democracy Initiative at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, where he developed policy ideas to ensure that technology strengthens democracy. From 2015 to 2020, Sam served as Director for Digital Trade at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), where he led negotiations on a range of trade policy matters including cross-border data flows, internet and telecom services, cybersecurity, and foreign investment.Prior to his government service, Sam worked in the nonprofit and private sectors on internet policy and projects to leverage technology in support of international development and human rights.
