EXPERIENCE : I am a seasoned IP Attorney and a registered Patent Agent with over 22 years of experience in IP. I am experienced in working closely with Fortune 500 multi-nationals as well as medium, small enterprises and start-ups building their IP portfolio (Patent, Trademark, Design etc.), protecting, defending and enforcing their IP rights. I provide techno-legal advice to clients and associates including in-house Counsels and IP/Patent heads of reputed national, multi-national companies from India, EP, US, JP, AU, KR, CA, China etc. on critical IP matters. Prosecuted and supervised thousands of patent applications before IPO in life science, pharma, chemistry, biotech, mechanical, software, telecom and allied domains. CORE SPECIALISM: My core specialization lies in handling and/or supervising, inter alia, drafting of patent specifications, filing and prosecuting matters across varied technology verticals, attending to hearings, pre and post grant oppositions etc. I render strategic opinion and/or advice including on patentability and/or patent eligibility of inventions, searches, freedom to operate (FTO), assignments, inventor rights, and licensing of inventions, working of patents, renewals, revocations as well as patent litigation. Experienced in dealing with high-stake erstwhile IPAB and Court matters – filing appeals, writs etc, acting as briefing counsel and arguing counsel before forums. Besides searches, preparation, filing and prosecution of Design and Trademark cases, adept in dealing with TM opposition and Design Cancellation. I am designated as Patent Star 2025 by the Managing IP.IP ORGANISATIONS:One of the founder members of FICPI-India, elected as Secretary since 2015 as well the Exco Delegate from India. I was Chair of CET 7 (Enforcement & ADR group) of FICPI until late 2021. I am the Deputy Secretary General of FICPI, elected in Cannes (FR)- first Indian IP Attorney to ever be part of the FICPI-Bureau. On behalf of FICPI, I collaborate with the major IP Offices including EPO, USPTO, IPO, JPO, KIPO and DIPP on strategic matters. PUBLICATIONS: I have published several peer reviewed papers, articles, pieces about IP (Patent) law and practice in Intellectual Property Magazine (IPM), LSIPR, IP Watch, SCRIPTED etc. Attended/attends various reputed IP conferences including INTA, FICPI, APAA, AIPPI, MARQUES, AIPLA, BIPF etc.SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS: I speak regularly on IP Law and Practice Management issues at national and international platforms such as FICPI-International & India, LES, BRICS-IP Forum, FICPI-China etc.
