I am a surface scientist by training, with extensive experience in building and establishing Materials Characterization and Analytical R&D facilities.My expertise and research interests lie in understanding the \"structure (or chemistry)- property - processing - performance correlation\"(i.e, how materials behave under different conditions, and why) of materials (examples - metals/alloys, ceramics/coatings, polymers, semiconductors). This understanding of materials is application-agnostic. Throughout my career in a variety of roles in Vantive R&D, Baxter R & ;D, CeNSE (IISc) and GE Global Research, I\'ve earned a reputation for utilizing my analytical skills and technical expertise for problem solving, for understanding the structure (or chemistry)- property-processing - performance correlation of materials, and developing better performing or more durable materials and products – that find applications in a wide variety of industries including Healthcare, Aviation, Water, Energy, and Lighting. I am equally passionate about connecting and collaborating with people from different domains, as I am a firm believer in the strength of combining diverse perspectives. I have over 7 years’ experience in building and leading high-performing R&D teams, and extensive experience in collaborating with academic and industrial partners, as well as contract research organizations. I am a lifelong student/learner. When I am not learning about science or technology, I read topics such as history, geography and personal effectiveness. I am also a trained Carnatic music singer.
