About Swapnil Deshpande
My passion for structures started right in my high school days, when my family was building our new house. I was fascinated by the foundations being poured, the framework for the building taking shape, developing a keen interest in structural engineering.Today, I am a structural engineer with focus on steel connection design and construction engineering with over 15 years of experience. I have worked on wide range of projects including arenas, stadiums, hospitals, industrial structures and auditoriums. My knowledge of industry standards and code requirements help me produce efficient designs that are structurally sound and at the same time easy to fabricate and erect. I have extensive experience of integrated modeling and project delivery, delivering a fully connected BIM model which can be readily used to produce shop drawings.Colleagues know me as a highly creative connection engineer who can always be trusted to come up with a new approach. I lead teams of several structural connection engineers on projects ranging from small office buildings to large sport stadiums. I work directly with fabricators, erectors and detailers, listening to their needs and providing creative solutions.
