ABOUT SWAPNARKO BHATTACHARYA
My name is Swapno Bhattacharya, and I’m an aspiring actuary currently pursuing a Bachelor of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo, specializing in Actuarial Science. I have passed SOA Exams FM and P and am preparing for SRM in Fall 2025. My career goal is to apply data-driven insight and financial acumen to solve complex problems in risk management, insurance, and finance. Before transitioning into actuarial science, I was on track to pursue the CPA designation. Through internships at Yamaha Motor Canada and Liberty Utilities, I gained hands-on experience in financial analysis, reporting, and reconciliation. These roles sharpened my attention to detail and built a strong foundation in Excel, SQL, and Python—skills I continue to refine in the actuarial space. I’ve collaborated on cross-functional projects involving forecasting, risk analysis, and regulatory reporting, and I bring a proactive, analytical mindset to every challenge. I am currently seeking a Fall/Winter co-op position where I can contribute to a dynamic team and continue developing my technical and actuarial expertise.
