ABOUT SWAGATA ROY
I am a compliance, audit, and risk senior leader who thrives in complex and rapidly changing environments. I lead with a strong focus on governance, diversity and inclusion, collaboration, and talent development. I am a change champion with successful track record of building impactful enterprise wide programs while leveraging technology. In 2021 I completed University of Toronto’s Master of Law program in Innovation Law and Technology concentration. This has equipped me with the ability to proactively identify risk in rapidly evolving technology areas like data privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, machine learning, intellectual property, blockchain, corruption and anti-money laundering. As the Director of Compliance Strategy and Performance at Algonquin Power and Utilities (Liberty) I was responsible for the company’s overall compliance strategy of building a robust compliance program. I report compliance performance metrics to the Board Risk Committee and C suite, while ensuring compliance risks are actively managed. In PointClickCare (electronic health records) I was brought in to build the company’s Sox and NI 52-109 program for IPO readiness. Prior to that in Bell Canada (Canadian Telecom Giant) and in SNC Lavalin (Global Engineering and Construction Conglomerate) on several enterprise wide projects including ERP transformation and M&A integration of international acquisitions.
