ABOUT SVETLANA PEREIRA

The Dilemma of the Apple - My StoryI officially hit writer\'s block when it comes to writing my LinkedIn summary. It\'s surprising because I have written so many articles and stories, yet I cannot seem to find the right set of words to tell you about myself. So I decided to finally wing it. Here\'s my story. It was not easy to grow up in the shadow of my parent\'s careers. People thought I was either destined to take over the family business in stationery or join the noble profession of teaching. Determined to carve my own path, I decided to follow my passion for communications and study Journalism.Several learning opportunities later, I developed and polished a ton of skills. This non-exhaustive list includes interning and freelancing for several well known publications, interviewing the who\'s who of the literature world, and dabbling in the wonderful world of Public Relations. I pursued a Master\'s degree in Marketing Communications in hopes to purse a career in Marketing or Public Relations. Occasionally I dabble in improving my video editing skills on Premiere Pro or reading a book from my growing book collection ( had to start from square one when I moved to the UK). I love experimenting with digital media and I feel I am at my best when I am indulging in my love for all things creative.In other news, I grew up to endlessly love stationery, it is an indispensable part of my life and I have definitely have the teaching genes as the designated last minute tutor for my friends in college. I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree, but is definitely trying to branch out.
