Previously, as Species Director at Colossal Biosciences, I led a team to help bring back some of the most incredible animals that went extinct thousands of years ago, and help protect those that are struggling to survive in today’s rapidly changing world. Executive leadership experience as VP of Bionano Genomics’, a NASDAQ-listed global genome analysis company. Counseled CEO on major commercial strategic decisions, coached executive team on customer needs and market developments, steered R&D and product development teams, led marketing and communications teams and established global commercial sales team training.Genome engineering experience as cofounder of Felix Pets, produced hypo-allergenic gene edited cat. Sequenced cat genome loci, built knock-out vector, screened thousands of cell lines, built 3 generations of gene editing tools (ZFN, TALEN, CRISPR-Cas9). Generated gene edited cat.Genome assembly and genome analysis expert focused on Bionano’s optical genome mapping technology, short-read and long-read sequencing (PacBio and ONT), whole-genome epigenetic analysis.Built Bionano\'s KOL strategy, established and led a global scientific affairs team, organized a global 35-speaker symposium and set up a multi-center consortium for the clinical validation of its novel genome analysis technique. Authored, curated and shaped scientific content to create a relentless stream of positive news. Led Bionano Genomics\' marketing and corporate messaging, supported sales strategy and market development through its evolution from genomics tools company to a disruptive force in human genetics, oncology research and clinical diagnostics, its 2018 IPO and 2021 exponential share price rally. At UCLA, developed and patented groundbreaking epigenetic method to accurately predict the age of an individual. As science journalist for Belgian public television, wrote and produced over 50 TV segments and two documentaries communicating complex scientific and technological breakthroughs for a broad prime time audience.
