About Suzie Sims

During my professional career I always knew I wanted to “give back” when I had time. Since retiring in 2021, I moved to Italy and love living here, but my desire to get involved with something meaningful has always been in the back of my mind. I started as an investor with a cancer research company, determined to cure cancer. We achieved our major breakthrough that detects stage 0 cancer from a simple blood draw in 2024. I know this will have a major impact on cancer survival in the US (and is being expanded internationally). I am very very proud to be a part of this! Through our company, CancerCheckLabs, I learned about a segment of our population that is at a significantly higher risk for cancer, just by going to work. Firefighters have a 72% chance of occupational cancer. Learning about firefighters statistics made me realize my calling - do everything I can to improve firefighters longevity. I want to give back to the career, volunteer and retired firefighters. That is my mission. I am very proud to spearhead Adopt a Firefighter, a 501(c)3 supported by volunteers. Our goals are clear: Mission: Provide critical, early detection cancer screening tests to all firefightersVision: To protect the lives of our firefighters just as they protect the lives in our communitiesPlease join me in supporting the longevity of our beloved protectors. We will begin in/near my hometown in DFW and expand throughout the US as quickly as possible. I hope you will be a part of my journey.
