About Suzanne Maher

Following a career in sales which taught me tremendous life lessons, I began my journey with PSMJ Resources. More than 25 years later I am still here, and I absolutely love my job! I started with PSMJ part-time while I was in college. In 1996, I joined full-time as Office Manager, eventually taking on the additional responsibility of Newsletter Coordinator. During these years, I was always drawn to PSMJ\'s tradeshow and conference, METALCON-the largest international event in the metal construction industry. In I transitioned to working with METALCON and in 2007, I was promoted to Assistant Show Manager. Always willing to take on every challenge that comes my way, I find the key to success is flexibility, attitude and a good sense of humor. I truly enjoy working with people in my industry and my mentors at METALCON and PSMJ. They allow me to be creative and decisive. I am empowered to bring ideas to the table and bring them to fruition. Should things go wrong, I have the freedom to change course. I can put out a fire before it even starts. I make it a priority to remain calm, cool and collected while diffusing any situation with a dash of humor, always trying to catch sight of the silver lining.To see all of our hard work come together in one show each year, is truly magical. The opportunity METALCON has provided me to travel and meet people from countries all over the world has been an eye-opening and humbling experience. To this end, I created an international lounge for worldwide visitors at the show-a chance for guests to interact and build long-lasting relationships.The greatest lesson in my corporate American career life to date, is not to be reactionary. Think before you speak and always put yourself in the other person\'s shoes-even if it\'s only for a split second! With that approach, I strive to create lifetime relationships with colleagues, speakers, exhibitors, general contractors, event staff, friends and family.
