ABOUT SUZANNE FRASIER

Suzanne Frasier is an Associate Professor at Morgan State University’s School of Architecture and Planning, located in Baltimore, Maryland. She is a licensed and registered architect and certified interior designer in the USA with over 20 years of professional experience in the design and construction industry prior to becoming a full-time academic. Frasier has held faculty positions at The New York School of Interior Design, the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in New York City, and SPA, New Delhi. She is the author of numerous theoretical and applied papers on architecture, interior design, and design pedagogy and sustainable consumption in urban developments. Frasier studied architecture at the City College of New York where she also earned her Master of Urban Planning degree.Suzanne was a 20••••13 Fulbright-Nehru Teaching and Research Fellow and visiting faculty member in the graduate urban design program at the prestigious School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. Her scholarly interests are varied, spanning from her research investigations conducted during her Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship of indigenous, imposed, and coopted cosmopolitan engagement, to her current focus on colonial littoral contestations—temporal, spatial, geographic, and economic—in South Asia and North America. She has presented papers at the Forum on Contemporary Theory, MAPACA, EDRA, IVSA, DCA, IPHS, ACSA, and ACLALS.Suzanne Frasier has been an active member of the American Institute of Architects for over 35 years, serving as the Chapter President of AIA Baltimore in 2019 when she was instrumental in establishing downtown Baltimore City\'s new Center for Architecture and Design, located in an historic Mies van der Rohe building. She is currently a member of the Maryland State Board of Certified Interior Designers, having been appointed for three consecutive terms by the Maryland Governor\'s Office.
