About Suzanne Tani
I completed a successful public sector career in project management and am using those skills, plus an abundance of passion, to improve nonprofit organizations. My biggest passion is doing work that makes peoples\' lives better and makes our planet healthier. I discovered community service early in life and have been a lifelong volunteer. I am now combining my passion for service with the experience I have developed managing large, complex projects throughout my career. How I approach work:• Understand the Objectives: I start by understanding the business problems and opportunities. I then work with organization to explore options before jumping into solutions or taking actions. This ensures limited resources are working on the most important work in a cost-effective manner, and that the solution fits into a longer-term plan, considering people, processes, and technology. This may include a business case or a simple pros and cons options evaluation. • Organize and Plan: Making sure the right people are involved at the right time with the right amount of oversight. This often includes developing a governance structure or it could be as simple as getting alignment on roles and responsibility.• Develop Effective Teams: I encourage team members to use their unique talents and work with them to develop new skills and take on stretch assignments. I also create an environment where everyone feels safe voicing alternative points of view and raising concerns. • Drive Results: I consistently hear from clients that they appreciate my drive to move the work forward to complete the work as planned. I understand that working with the team to take quick action towards resolving issues and removing barriers is key to this. I stay focused on the overall objective and what is most important and help the team move forward. • Demonstrate Character: I value honesty and humility and take pride in always giving credit where it is due. Conversely, I am not afraid to deliver difficult messages to help people and the organization meet their objectives.
