ABOUT SUZANNE LINDSAY HOLT

Hi, I’m Suzanne.I work with construction businesses to help them retain talented mums and support them to step into leadership in a way that works for real life.I’m a Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB) and a leadership coach. I’ve spent my career in and around construction and the built environment, and I now focus on the point where many brilliant women quietly start to drift out of the industry.The data backs this up.ONS shows a long-term decline in women working in construction. EngineeringUK highlights a spike in women aged 35 to 44 leaving engineering roles. When you line that up with the average age of starting a family, it is hard to ignore the overlap.In my experience, this is rarely about capability or commitment. Most of the mums I work with are technically strong, deeply invested in their work, and already leading in practice. What they are often missing is support that reflects the reality of project based work, site cultures, and family life.That’s where my work sits.I design and deliver leadership development and coaching that is bespoke to mums in construction, whether that is one to one coaching, group programmes, or support for businesses that want to do better at retaining experienced women.In practice, this means:• Leadership development that makes sense in construction• Coaching that helps mums rebuild confidence and clarity after maternity leave• Practical ways to lead well without burning out• Support that recognises both work and home, rather than pretending one does not existSome of the women I work with go on to step into new leadership roles, secure promotions, or change how they work so that their careers feel sustainable again. Just as importantly, many stop second-guessing themselves and start trusting their experience.I’m MCIOB, CMgr FCMI, an EMCC Senior Practitioner Coach, CITB Assured, and part of the CITB Training Provider Network.
