ABOUT SUZANNE GREENWALT

I am a physical therapist, educator, and academic leader with more than 20 years of experience across clinical practice, healthcare systems, and higher education. My career has been shaped by a deep commitment to improving healthcare quality—by supporting patients, empowering clinicians, and preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.I currently serve in a leadership role in physical therapy education, where I lead a Doctor of Physical Therapy program and oversee faculty, budgets, and accreditation processes. Earlier in my career, my leadership experience was rooted in healthcare delivery, with extensive work in geriatric care and complex patient populations. This combined perspective allows me to bridge clinical realities with educational innovation, strategic planning, and programmatic growth.I am a board-certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist and was the first Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Clinical Specialist in the state of Tennessee. I remain actively engaged in patient care and believe that an ongoing commitment to serving patients strengthens my effectiveness as an educator and leader in healthcare. This continued clinical involvement ensures that my teaching and leadership remain grounded in contemporary practice.Since 2013, I have been deeply invested in physical therapy education. I am a tenured Associate Professor and earned my PhD in Health Education in 2024, advancing into the role of Program Chair shortly thereafter. My work focuses on academic excellence, accreditation readiness, interprofessional education, faculty development, and sustainable program growth.At the core of my work is a belief that strong leadership, high-quality education, and collaborative practice are essential to advancing healthcare. I am passionate about developing clinicians and educators who are prepared to lead, serve, and improve outcomes for patients and communities.
