Investing £42 million in community-focused initiatives, Regenerage has supported over one million people, driven by the commitment of volunteers who have contributed over 1.2 million hours, equating to £10.6 million in value. Additionally, Regenerage has secured £10 million in benefits for older adults, bolstering the local economy. I was tasked with reinvigorating its structure and services to meet the radically changed environment for charities (funding sources, political landscapes, social needs). Selected Achievements:• Returned financial stability by an unrestricted income strategy centred on modernising physical retail, and e-commerce, compensating for the loss of commissions, grants and legacies. • Appointed a Retail Director focused on profitability, increasing retail funding to £1.48m of the charity’s £2.4m income, 62%, and e-commerce from £9k to £118k. All shops make a 20% plus contribution, two make 40%+.• Enhanced the Executive, coaching one member who is now a successful Chief Executive elsewhere, exiting another and developing internal candidates to fill key roles cost-effectively, raising performance and service quality.• Overall Winner of the Red Rose Award 2020 (Lancashire Business View magazine), recognising the transformative commercial approach and achievements of my first 18 months in role.• Opened the UK’s second-largest charity shop in a location outside our traditional area of operations, profitable in just six months and contributing the highest income percentage among revenue sources.• Revamped the charity’s marketing and digital presence, enabling staff to innovate for unrestricted income growth and improved brand visibility.• Leveraged a strategic advantage over a national brand competitor by staying open during COVID-19:• Within six months, completing a rebrand, with all intellectual property registered, HQ, store front and other facia changed, and fundraising collateral redesigned.
