ABOUT SUZAN MELDONIAN
Suzan Meldonian is an award winning underwater photojournalist and ocean advocate using her photo documentary work to introduce the ocean realm to the public eye. Through her amazing images, Suzan brings the personalities and traits of many marine critters to light. Her philosophy is “As we learn more, we evolve”. Her belief is that as underwater photographers, it becomes our inherent duty to share with the world that which goes on, beneath the horizon. If the world learns more about the intricacies beneath the sea, hopefully they will embrace maintaining a proper balance and understand how 50% of our oxygen on Earth depends on us keeping the oceans clean. Suzan’s work, doesn’t just involve image capture and sharing. She is a seriously hard working ocean crusader. Suzan recently launched a terrific website for the diving community, Discover the Oceans.com, which bridges the gap between divers, science and education with a phenomenal way to search for exactly what you are looking for when it comes to the ocean whether you are a diver or not. Currently Suzan is on the Board of Directors for the South Florida Underwater Photography Society as President, and has served on the Board in various positions since 2004. Her work has been published in numerous books and magazines around the world; Ocean Geographic, Asian Diver, Scuba Diver Australasia; Dangerous Marine Animals; EZ DIVE, HEINZ Press, Mergulho, National Geographic, Reef Creature & Fish ID Books, Ocean Planet; ScubaShooters; Smithsonian; Sport Diver, Underwater Dive Photo Guide; Scuba Diver Korea, UW360 Asia and Wetpixel. She\'s authored 2 books on the marine life at the Blue Heron Bridge, Florida. The Palm Beach County Commission utilized the book to gain state funding to help protect the area and improve the human experience by installing an artificial reef. In addition to Underwater Photography, Suzan has been a Credit and Collections Manager working in high profile companies for over 20 years.
