About Susrita Sarkar
For my PhD, I studied the role of muscarinic receptors in spatiotemporal sequence learning in mouse primary visual cortex. Prior to this, I did a Master\'s at Brandeis where I studied both Molecular and Cell Biology and Neuroscience. I worked in 2 neuroscience labs during my time at Brandeis. Between Brandeis and BU, I worked as a research assistant at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School where I did research in Cellular Neuropsychiatry. I have a BS-MS dual degree from IISER, Bhopal in India where I majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry with a specialization in Molecular Biology. I also did a Master’s thesis at IISER, in the field of molecular/chaperone biology with the following title: Specialized Role of Djp1, a class II J protein in peroxisomal and mitochondrial function in yeast. I worked as a summer intern in 2 separate labs (cancer biology/structural biology) during my undergrad. I enjoy talking to God, talking to my mom, exploring mythology, buying gifts, swimming, singing, reading, shopping and trying new cuisines.
