About Susie R.
A fan blade is the first thing you see on a jet engine, and it’s been my joy to invent its future in flight for the last decade. From aeromechanics, performance, aerodynamics and mechanical design - fan problems are my favorite ones to solve. I\'ve written two certification reports, and led 80+ person teams across multiple continents and external partners to achieve big wins. Being a transplant can feel intensely lonely but I found my familía with within GE’s Hispanic & Latino Alliance on my first day when I knew all of one person in my new city. I’ve paid it forward by helping 500+ folks find their home at GE too, leading recruiting teams and developing strategies for external partners like the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. I have learned something new from each of the thousands of students at career fairs, interviews, and info sessions I’ve had the chance to talk with. Want to join GE? Owned composite structural hardware from clean sheet design through PDR, coordinating across systems, materials, mechanical analysis and impact dynamics- Led ballistic impact component testing to support material selection across two campaigns- Led a Kaizen to standardize the process for all future aero rigs, reducing the process steps from 147 to 72.
