About Susanne Shepherd Post
With over 30 years as a salon owner and stylist, I’ve seen firsthand the power of connection, trust, and compassion in the beauty industry. My career has been about more than transforming hair - it’s been about creating safe spaces where people can be seen and heard.As a domestic violence survivor myself, I know the difference that one caring person can make. This understanding led me to co-found Shear Haven, an initiative that trains beauty professionals to recognize the signs of domestic violence and connect clients to help. So far, Shear Haven’s free training has reached over individuals in more than 100 countries, equipping salon professionals to be a lifeline for those in need.In 2020, I successfully advocated for legislation in Tennessee mandating this training for all licensed beauty professionals. Today, I continue to champion this cause through the bipartisan Salon Stories Act, working to ensure that every salon professional in the U.S. has access to this potentially life-saving education and resources.My mission is simple: to reach every licensed beauty professional with the knowledge and tools to support survivors and create safer communities.
