Making biomedical data work for humanity.I lead the science & data infrastructure at Sage Bionetworks, where my team manages multi-petabyte systems supporting research into Cancer, Alzheimer\'s, Digital Health, and Rare Diseases. We\'re building the pipes that let researchers worldwide collaborate safely and effectively.**What drives me:** The intersection of three critical challenges:How do we share sensitive health data globally while protecting privacy?How do we make AI trustworthy in healthcare?How do we accelerate research without compromising ethics?**Recent impact:**- Currently overseeing a multi-million dollar portfolio of NIH and foundation-funded data infrastructure projects at Sage- Previously built the UK\'s first national Trusted Research Environment network at HDR UK (200+ team)- Established ICO\'s AI & Data Science team, shaping how the UK regulates AI- Led multi-million euro European projects creating cloud platforms for genomic research**My approach:** I believe technology should amplify human capability, not replace it. Whether designing federated data ecosystems, advising on national health initiatives like Our Future Health, or serving on the UKRI Infrastructure Advisory Committee, I focus on practical solutions that work in the real world.I\'ve spent 18+ years translating between worlds - helping technologists understand policy, policymakers grasp technology implications, and researchers access the tools they need. Published in Nature, Cell Genomics, and BMJ.
