About Sushanta B.

A geoscientist and geomodeler with 15 years experience in characterization and development of primarily unconventional reservoirs from US-L48 and global basins. Project experience also includes traditional oil and gas development and carbon sequestration (CCUS). Expert Petrel geomodeler, and strong experience in petrophysics and operations, including 24/7 geosteering support and onsite supervision of several logging and coring jobs- Delivered field development plans collaborating closely with reservoir engineers, completions engineers, and hydrofrac-modelers, integrating reservoir quality, landing targets, production behavior, frac-geometry, well-spacing, and interference-Developed reservoir description and geomodels of unconventional reservoirs, sandstone reservoirs and carbonates. These include unconventional Bakken, Wolfcamp (Midland, Delaware), Eagle Ford, Austin Chalk, Gachsaran (UAE) and Amatitlan (Mexico), conventional sandstones from Williston Basin, and NE India, and carbonates from Permian Basin and Williston Basin- Developed geomechanical finite element models in Petrel - Visage to simulate stress alteration due to production, i.e, parent - child well interaction, in unconventional Wolfcamp and Eagle Ford reservoirs- At Hess, leading the Bakken and shallow injection zone reservoir characterization, modeling and mapping, contributing to well forecast models and addressing operations challenges- Was rewarded at ConocoPhillips for novel analysis of geosteering data to identify heterogeneity (resulting funding for new pilot well location), significant improvement in team efficiency, and integrating petrophysics to reduce uncertainty in global exploration- For clients at WDVG, characterized Wolfcamp, identified additional oil, de-risked drilling in Louisiana Austin Chalk, addressed Eagle Ford casing damages and well interferences by integrating 3D seismic with geosteering, microseismic, completions and geomechanics- At EERC, developed 3D geomodels and performed uncertainty analysis for key North Dakota CCUS projects- At EIP group, generated ~$10 million value for client by improving production and replacing poor drilling locations. In return, secured $4 million funding for reservoir modeling studies for CO2-EOR and mature field rejuvenation.SOFTWARE & DATABASE: Petrel, Geographix, Visage, IP, Techlog, StarSteer and Boresight (geosteering); IHS Enerdeq wells and TGS R360 databases; Python, SQL, Power BI, and Spotfire.
