ABOUT SUSAN SMITH NEWELL
Susan is passionate about helping individuals grow and develop. She loves building mutually beneficial relationships and working with law students to help them navigate the first year of law school and create, pursue, and share their individual stories - typically including a unique combination of spiritual, personal, professional, service, and leisure attributes, skills, and interests. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary’s College, a master’s degree in Psychology from The Catholic University of America, a Juris Doctor degree from the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America, and Leadership Certification through the Mendoza College of Business, University of Notre Dame. Prior to her association with law students, Newell worked as Founder of The ONE Method™ (a framework for holistic living, strategic learning, proactive leading, and thoughtful legacy creation) and President of the Parents Council of Washington, a membership organization of over 50 independent PK-12 schools in the DC/MD/VA metropolitan area. Other previous work spanned all levels of public service, as well as advocacy in the fields of law, education, human development, and strategic planning. Susan was admitted to practice law in Indiana, Illinois, and the District of Columbia. She and her husband Tom are parents to five fun “adults”.
