Legal operations is at an inflection point. AI is not a future consideration. It is a current operating decision, and most legal functions are not ready for it.I have spent 20 years building legal functions from scratch at companies like Uber, eBay, Twilio, Atlassian, and now Avalara, through hypergrowth, restructuring, and transformation. That experience gives me a specific point of view: operational maturity is what separates legal teams that lead from those that react.My focus now is on what comes next: how legal functions adopt AI thoughtfully, build durable infrastructure, and evolve from cost centers to strategic assets. I work at the intersection of strategy, technology, and organizational design.I also advise and speak on legal ops maturity, AI enablement, and building high-performing legal teams.
