About Susannah Tantemsapya
Susannah Tantemsapya is the Founder & Executive Director of Creative Migration, a women-of-color-led international arts organization focused on cultural and climate diplomacy based in Los Angeles and Bangkok. Her most ambitious endeavor to date is Bangkok 1899, a cultural & civic hub in Thailand established in 2019 with seed funding from Ford Philanthropy and The Rockefeller Foundation. Creative Migration established an organization-wide Climate Policy in 2022, including producing Climate Impact Reports (CIRs) for all significant activities in collaboration with the grassroots collective Artists Commit. Creative Migration has major support from the ECCA Family Foundation and Ford Philanthropy in 2025.Susannah is the Producer of Creatives for Climate Action - Thailand (CCAT), an initiative launched by the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) Cluster Thailand and produced by Creative Migration. She is also part of the organizing team for the inaugural Bangkok Climate Action Week (BKKCAW). In November 2024, she was the sole representative for the Asia-Pacific region at the G20 Culture and Climate Seminar in Brazil, helping to bridge Global South perspectives with international initiatives.She served on the Convening Team of the Entertainment and Culture for Climate Action (ECCA) initiative from 2021 to 2024, is a Non-Profit Advisor for the Entertainment + Culture Pavilion and serves on the Advisory Council of the Hollywood Climate Summit. She is also a Global Ambassador & Fellow at the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), was named to Tatler’s Gen.T Asia List (2019), is a Founding Member of Soho House Bangkok and advises Brackish Water Los Angeles for Getty’s Pacific Standard Time 2024.Susannah earned a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her commitment to environmental preservation was further shaped by her experiences with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and an architecture workshop at Arcosanti.
