About Susanna Shakespeare

Susanna earned both her undergraduate degree and her Master’s in the Art of Teaching from Colorado College. While at CC, she developed a passion for all things outdoors along with a keen interest in working with students in a variety of capacities. She also became very involved in community service, leading one of the college’s first international service trips to install solar electricity at a monastery in rural India. While earning her Master’s degree, Susanna taught secondary English and focused on the importance of empowering students to own their education and their process. Her thesis project concentrated on increasing student awareness around their role in their own education and teaching them the value of self-evaluation throughout their school experience. She believes empowering students and helping them discover their strengths, passions, and capabilities will lead to success far beyond the classroom setting. Susanna has worked in education since 2004 and in the therapeutic field since 2012. She discovered her passion for admissions in 2012, when she began working at a therapeutic boarding school. Informed by her background in education, Susanna approaches admissions with a recognition of each student’s unique needs. She compassionately guides families through what can be an emotional and challenging process. She is passionate about helping students and families make positive changes in their lives and relationships. In her free time, she loves camping, exploring the outdoors with her husband and two daughters, playing golf, and cheering on the Seattle Seahawks.
