About Susana Schuler
I love being part of the Central Alabama community and seeing our staff at WVTM 13 grow as they immerse themselves in the community, in their quest to always serve our audience and our clients and in our quest to feel included, heard, valued and supported at work. Throughout my now 36 years in local broadcasting I\'ve had the amazing opportunity to work in local media and in corporate positions and loved both. That said I truly find the greatest reward in seeing the impact to the people I have the opportunity to work with daily at WVTM 13 and being in the community helping improve Birmingham and the surrounding cities. We made Birmingham home in 2019 and both our daughters and three grandkids live in Alabama now so life is amazing! As a journalist, I spent my career dreaming of working for Hearst. Now that it\'s a reality there is no question we can succeed, we can grow we can best serve our community with Hearst\' support. Never has their focus on taking care of our colleagues been more evident than the last few years. That support allows us to meet our mission to be the trusted source for impactful, relevant, local news, weather, sports, information and entertainment. to help local business succeed in attracting customers, to immerse ourselves in our community to help meet their needs, support what\'s working, help with what isn\'t and celebrate all Central Alabama has to offer each individual. Living in Central Alabama affords me, my husband, our kids, grandkids and our dogs the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, enjoy the mountains and the beaches in a short drive, enjoy culture, understand our past as we make a better future and savor some award winning meals, breweries and bars.
