About Susan Seade

I am a graduate student and research assistant in the Community Planning Program at Auburn University, within the Department of Political Science in the College of Liberal Arts. I hold a bachelor’s degree in development planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana, where I was trained to understand and address complex social, economic, and spatial development challenges. My education focused on integrated approaches to land use, infrastructure planning, policy analysis, and encouraging community participation in the planning process.Through both my academic and professional experiences, I have developed a strong background in urban and regional planning, sustainability, land administration, and environmental and climate-related issues. I have contributed to research and planning projects on heat waves, heat action plans, planning issues, land economics, transportation and sustainability bringing analytical skills and a strong sense of purpose to each role.I am often described as hardworking, self-motivated, organized, and adaptable, whether I am working independently or as part of a team. I value resilience, personal growth, and I am passionate about mentorship, giving back, and meaningful community engagement. At the heart of my work is a commitment to inclusive and sustainable development. My long-term goal is to drive positive change wherever I find myself. I believe planning should empower people, and I am most inspired when I see the individuals and communities I work with thrive.
