As a VA LAPP/ FHA DE /USDA /FHA 184 underwriter and underwriting manager, I thrive on the high stress and high energy of underwriting complex residential mortgage loans within various channels (correspondent, wholesale, and retail). With 20+ years of expertise in mortgage banking in a variety of roles, I am motivated by the ability to help homeowners obtain housing. My areas of focus have included government lending, JUMBO underwriting, non-conforming, new construction, VA/FHA/USDA/ FNMA/Freddie Mac auditing and post-closing, and asset management. Throughout my experience, I have developed support and training for internal and external partners, managed and mentored teams, provided guidance and implemented guidelines, and managed risks. I have a record of advancing into senior roles due to my ability to lead and nurture those around me while also serving as a trusted advisor and right-arm to executive management. I have successfully reduced costs, boosted business productivity and efficiencies, and created and implemented training programs. I am passionate about tackling new challenges, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory standards, and leveraging my leadership talents to drive teams to peak performance levels.
