Friends is a volunteer-based organization that provides support to the NCLBPH. Through fundraising efforts and bequests, the Friends are able to provide enhanced support to existing Library programs and engage in projects and advocacy designed to engage and support the vision community. Literacy is what the Library is all about and the Friends support that cause wholeheartedly.The Friends enhance library services beyond what the State budget provides annually. All donations to the Friends are tax deductible. The purpose of this organization is to promote the development of excellent library service to the citizens of our state who have blindness or physical disabilities, and to support programs of the library. Additionally we foster relations between the library and NC citizens, promote knowledge of the library\'s services/resources, provide the means for patrons to exchange ideas, information and experience.
