About Susan K.

I was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. In middle school, I developed an interest in medicine. In high school, my interest grew so I began taking AP classes in human sciences. I was moved from Kindergarten into 2nd grade and from 2nd grade into 4th. I graduated from high school at the age of 16. At age 9 at the start of 6th grade, my middle school counselor recommended to my parents I test for American MENSA. I was tested using the Stanford-Benet standardized test and the CogAT. I scored in the top 1.5% in the USA and was inducted into the American MENSA society in 6th grade at age 9. I have participated in many special interest groups and social functions through MENSA and enjoy the benefits and honor of MENSA. I started my higher education at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. at age 16. Rockhurst is a private Catholic Jesuit University with one of the top-ranking nursing programs in MO. State board pass rates have maintained a consistent 98-100% year over year. I lived on campus during my undergrad work to gain a full college experience. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in May 2004. I began my career at a Level 1 Trauma Center ER in Kansas City where I earned multiple certifications. I continued my education with a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of MO-Kansas City and became an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with an emphasis in Emergency Medicine/Trauma. I continued my education and received a Master\'s Degree in Health Care Administration from UMKC. I decided on an MBA completion through the highly sought-after Helzbergs school of business at Rockhurst University. While I was attending Rockhurst for my Bachelor\'s degree I was involved in Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, Student Government, and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in the top 1% of my graduating class. I was also on the Varsity Dance Team and enjoyed the game day experience. Other honors in additional degree work can be found in my work experience. I care about humanity and human life. I want to make an impact on people\'s lives, and each day I make that impact and it motivates me to get up the next day and do it again. I believe that a positive competitive attitude, ongoing personal research and education, and the ability to efficiently listen and talk with others are a few traits to be successful in this industry. I pride myself on having these traits as well as many others. This makes me a very valuable asset to any organization I have the opportunity to be a part of.
