ABOUT SUSAN ALEXANDER

I have been a specialist family law practitioner for over 40 years. After graduating in law, I began my legal career in 1979 at a Glasgow city centre firm. I was a solicitor with the firm for 14 years, becoming an equity partner along the way. I am a founder member of the Solicitors Family Law Association in Scotland. I relocated to England in 1993, studied my legal practice conversion course at the College of Law in Guildford and re-qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1994. I have specialised in Family Law since that date. I am a member of Resolution (first for family law); a Resolution trained collaborative practitioner and a Resolution trained Family Mediator. I am a fully accredited mediator through the Family Mediation council. I am qualified to undertake direct consultation with children. I am a Senior Associate Solicitor and Family Mediator with MSB solicitors in Liverpool and Chester specialising in all aspects of Family law, Family mediation and Collaborative Family Law. My goal is to provide sensible and supportive legal help, advice and advocacy to anyone with a family issue, such as divorce, separation, post and pre nuptial contracts, domestic abuse and coercive control, financial settlements, Children issues and complex financial arrangements. I also have signicant experience in public law children matters and in making applications for a parental order and for special guardianship orders. I am a trained collaborative practitioner and aim to assist couples to separate in an amicable and dignified way using the collaborative process. I am also a very experienced family mediator with a proven track record of assisting couples to reach agreement on the arrangements for their children and split of their finances.
