Responsible for creating high-level locators for all parts that contributes to the Fit and Finish of the vehicle.• Work extensively with conceptual data to influence the early-stage design of the vehicle, supporting strong dimensional strategies from the beginning.• Create Coordinate Cut Planes (CCPs) for each CAS release to define how the Fit and Finish of the car will be checked.• Prepare Manufacturing Complexity Analysis (MCA) reports for benchmark vehicles before starting a new program.• Create MCA reports for our vehicle at each CAS release and compare our vehicle’s manufacturing complexity to benchmarks and suggest ways to reduce complexity.• Perform Sensitivity Studies on important parts like headlamps and tail lamps to understand how different locators strategy affect variation and choose the most robust locating strategy.• Support the Perceived Quality team by checking Gap Plans and helping to confirm if targets are feasible using Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA).• Work closely with suppliers once they are on-boarded to make sure dimensional requirements are understood and met.• Take part in cross-functional discussions to make sure the design and manufacturing plans match dimensional goals throughout the project.
