Performs a variety of routine duties related to the coordination, development, and implementation of the Port’s Climate Action Plan (CAP), Maritime Clean Air Strategy (MCAS), and other sustainability-related programs- Understands and educates Port staff on how the State’s climate goals impact Port operations and which strategies and measures are needed to reduce the Port’s greenhouse gas emissions on tidelands- Assists with implementing and coordinating programs related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, building decarbonization, alternative fuels, greenhouse gas emission reduction and quantification, climate change, water conservation, waste diversion, and general sustainability- Seeks opportunities for the Port to participate in community outreach events to promote the Maritime Clean Air Strategy (MCAS). Facilitates and organizes the Port’s participation in local community outreach events- Reviews proposed pilot projects from the Port’s Blue Economy Incubator Portfolio and ensures compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the California Coastal Act (Coastal Act)- Manages the status of the mitigation measures associated with the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal PEIR and ensures continued compliance; Reviews proposed projects on the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal and ensures consistency with the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal PEIR.
