About Suraj Vekhande
Third Person Perspective : 2023Driven by a sense of purpose to combat climate change, Suraj is an accomplished environmentalist who earned his Master’s in Environmental Science in December 2023, ranking third in his university following a 2021 Physics degree from Shivaji University with a 94.8% score. To bolster his expertise in industrial ethics and sustainability, he concurrently completed a dual degree with an A+ grade on his first attempt in 2023, alongside an honors degree in English and his current MBA in HR. Since September 2023, he has served as a dedicated intern at KIG Mumbai-India, where he shares expertise in GIS and Spatial Remote Sensing an interest that ignited during his third semester through a project using IDW for noise level monitoring in Kolhapur City hospitals. Suraj’s technical proficiency has led to his selection for ISRO-IIRS Image Analysis Programme starting in January 2024, building on a robust portfolio of international ecological projects. His work spans from modeling sea level rise with NOAA and analyzing pipeline corridors for the Ujwala Gas Yojana to developing heat risk indices for Athens, Greece, and quantifying Amazonian deforestation in Brazil.
