About Suraj K
Currently, I\'m a Staff Engineer at Qualcomm where I work on developing mobile and hardware friendly computer vision algorithms for various usecases.Previously, I was a Research Scientist at Intel where, worked on developing a prototype of an immersive telepresence and videoconferencing system. Contributed to improving the perceptual quality of the captured videos, improving performance of camera pose estimation and estimating consistent dense depth. Before that, I was a Technical Specialist at Continental AG in ADAS division. Worked on solving long-standing but important problems that have immense impact for driver assistance and self-driving cars. I also had a short stint at a very early stage startup where I worked on developing solutions for problems related to smart city usecases.I was a PhD candidate at the Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CVAI) in the department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. My doctoral research aims to make use of color+depth viz. RGBD images and videos to develop applications for futuristic entertainment systems such as 3DTVs, Free Viewpoint Televisions (FTVs) and Holographic Displays.Personally, any problem that can be solved using data from camera attracts my attention. My research interests include (but definitely not limited to) optical flow estimation, monocular and multi-camera depth estimation, camera calibration (both intrinsic and extrinsic) etc.
