About Suraj Jayasimha
As the founder of SAMAAJ, a social venture that aims to empower marginalized communities in India, I am passionate about creating positive social change through technology and innovation. I have led multiple projects that leverage data analysis, machine learning, and mobile app development to address issues such as education, health, and environment. For example, I developed a website for Sundaram books using python on the Django framework, and script that analyzes state-wise COVID-19 data and predicts future trends using ARIMA models. I am also a computer science student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I am pursuing my BS degree with a focus on software development and data science. I have completed several courses and certifications in Python, R, Java, C++, and Dart, and have published a research paper on COVID-19 data analysis in Actuary India, a peer-reviewed journal. In addition, I am a marathon runner and a cricket enthusiast, who enjoys staying fit and active, and learning from diverse cultures and perspectives.
