ABOUT SUPRIYA M.

Supriya advocates that every person has their own unique experiences of discrimination and oppression and must have have strong supports to overcome these societal barriers. She strongly feels we must consider the intersectionality of various experiences that can marginalize people through gender, race, class, sexual orientation, and physical ability. With a Master of Science in Psychology, Supriya has always been passionate about understanding human behaviors. Supriya hopes that by making mental health care more affordable and accessible, the stigmas surrounding mental health will cease to exist. Supriya has worked with adults providing case management services to aid individuals experiencing homelessness. Supriya has also worked with child and adolescent populations within inpatient and outpatient settings. Due to these experiences, she is also well versed in crisis prevention and intervention, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy. Supriya also believes in a holistic approach to mental health as she has realized over the years that there often is not one but numerous methods that can assist individuals with their mental health journey. Supriya enjoys learning about history and loves trying new things whether its food, activities, or traveling to a new city. “If you were born with the weakness to fall, you were born with the strength to rise”- Rupi Kaur
