About Supraja Prakash
I am a certified healthcare professional with expertise in rare diseases, genetic testing, education, psychosocial support and awareness creation among families with a wide array of genetic disorders. My special interest clinical areas include general pediatrics, cardiology, dermatology, newborn screening and metabolic genetics. My career goals include integrating clinical research into public health programs for promoting knowledge and accessibility of genetic tests and therapies. I am a GC graduate program course director, primary student supervisor and mentor with a passion for continued learning and teaching. I enjoy applying my molecular research scientist skills when it comes to exploring genetic causes of complex disorders. I served as a co-chair for the International Special Interest Group with NSGC (ISIG), focusing on professional development for GCs in the United States (USISIG). I currently serve as a research mentor for GCs and students, collaborating on various qualitative and qualitative thesis projects.
