ABOUT SUPARBA ROY-CHAKRABORTY

Currently, Suparba is a PhD candidate in the Elowe & Masson lab in Oncology Axis at the Centre de Recherche (CHU de Québec), Université Laval, Québec, Canada. Suparba is currently studying how an enzymatic imbalance during cell division causes genomic instability (aneuploidy). Suparba is a cell/molecular biologist and has gained her hands-on research training in Scotland, UK, in the Humpton lab at Glasgow Caledonian University. During her master\'s, she studied p53, copper metabolism and liver disease. Suparba has been awarded the research and innovation award by CHUQ and Desjardins for pursuing her doctoral studies in Quebec. She also received the Tuition Fee Exemption Award for PhD as an international student in Université Laval. Suparba has an advanced level of proficiency in English and a beginner level in French. She worked as an editor with RSC, Cambridge, in the past. She has built, guided, and mentored teams as a leader and also conducted final and technical interview rounds for hiring during her leadership role. She is an avid reader and enjoys learning complex mechanisms, in and out of science. She has worked on various research projects as a post-graduate research student and continues to do so in her doctoral studies.Suparba enjoys and plans to work as a researcher and test her scientific ideas while working as an independent researcher. Suparba\'s hobbies are baking, functional training and spending time with her daughter and pet dog. She also enjoys home decor and gardening.
