Highly committed, customer-focussed MySQL DBA with almost 15 years’ experience gained primarily working on client accounts through Tier One outsourced service providers. Analytical, methodical and detailed, with strong problem-solving abilities and demonstrable record in developing systems and processes to stabilise operational functions ultimately benefiting the business users. Progression through systems engineering role to a dedicated Oracle DBA role, which formed into a MySQL DBA role in recognition of developing knowledge of database systems and initiative shown in proactively scoping & delivering valuable projects. Full lifecycle experience gained from ITIL v3 Foundation certification, from presenting business cases for approval, to problem analysis, developing solutions, parallel testing and successful implementation, all alongside carrying out day-to-day BAU functions as required by production. Also including Change Management and Incident Management to handle BAU support of client systems. Driven by working to common business objectives with the flexibility and adaptability often required to meet challenging deadlines.Technical expertise includes an in-depth knowledge of MYSQL 5.1 – 8.0, Percona Server 5.5 – 8.0 and MariaDB 10.0 – 10.4 with both InnodDB and MyIASM storage engines, MYSQL Replication (Primary-Primary, Primary-Replica, Chained replication, Filtered Replication, Percona XtraDB Cluster & MariaDB Galera Cluster), MySQLD_Multi, MySQL performance/query tuning and high availability using MySQL Multi-Master Manager and PCS/RHCS Cluster. Backup & recovery tools such as mysqldump, Percona Xtrabackup and mariabackupOther database technologies include Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g, performing key operational tasks including RMAN backups and restores, creating databases & performance monitoring. Tasks also include creating SQL code, PL/SQL procedures. Incorporation of technologies such as RAC, ASM, OEM, CRS, Oracle Streams, Data Guard and Database Encryption (TDE Encryption), SQL Developer. Previously worked for Nuance Communications Inc and Motortrak as a Senior MySQL/Oracle DBA. This role consisted of maintaining high availability of both MySQL and Oracle Databases that aid various web and front end applications, reviewing SQL code to ensure it is efficient, data analysis and provide solutions to ensure the problem is rectified adequately and efficiently and in a timely manner.
