Partial Bio\"Sunny Schwartz is a nationally recognized expert in criminal justice reform and the author of the best selling book Dreams from the Monster Factory. Under the leadership of Sheriff Michael Hennessey, Schwartz founded pioneering programs that include the first restorative justice program in San Francisco called Resolve to Stop the Violence Project, which received the Innovations in Government Award (known as the Oscars in Government award) from the Kennedy School at Harvard University. Ms Schwartz also founded the Five Keys Charter School, the first in the nation high school for incarcerated and post release adults, the Cover Project for incarcerated veterans and numerous recovery programs. Sheriff Hennessey and Ms. Schwartz’s initiatives have been featured on PBS, The Oprah Show, Larry King Live and multiple local, national and international broadcasts.In addition to creating and directing criminal justice programs, Ms. Schwartz is a highly regarded lecturer and consultant on topics such as: new remedies and policies for criminal justice systems; responsible alternatives to traditional incarceration.
