About Sunil Patil
Growing up as a kid, I was always fascinated by fast moving things - Planes, Cars, Trains etc. and was always more curious about what really enables them to move fast. This interest transformed into doing more studies and research in the field of Aerodynamics and Propulsion, and tools such as CFD and simulations in general. I started my Professional career at General Electric where I was able to use some of the skills I learnt into the practice. I supported the development of next generation Aircraft Engine programs. At GE, I focused on design of Aircraft Engine Fan and Compressor section using some preliminary design tools as well as advanced CFD techniques to get best possible efficiency. This was the first time I closely witnessed the life of the product from its ideation to in service operation as OEM personnel.In my current role at ANSYS as an Industry leader, I\'m using my passion and domain knowledge to help our major customers become successful which in my opinion is critical for business growth of any engineering organization. We partner with our major Industrial customers and Academia to build and deploy innovative solution workflows for various aspects of product such as detailed design or Digital Twin for predictive maintenance. Last but not the least, I\'m also committed to giving back to community which has helped me build such an exciting career. I\'m active ASME member who has organized many sessions at international conferences, published novel ideals, and also act as associate editor for Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power.
