ABOUT SUNIL KUMAR
From 1990 to 1995, I worked in the Indian Air Force as a radio technician, but I realized that my dreams lay elsewhere and could not be fulfilled there. In 1995, I came across some share certificates of Tata Steel and Tata Motors owned by my cousin. That moment made me realize I could achieve my dream of becoming an entrepreneur through the stock market. I started applying for IPOs in 1995. My first IPO allotment was 100 shares of Silverline Industries at ₹10 per share, which I later sold for ₹200 per share. This gave me a profit of from an investment of just by this success, I started applying for all IPOs at that time. I would frequently visit Connaught Place, searching for resources to learn more about the stock market through magazines and financial newspapers. I quit my job in 1996 and began trading in the secondary market while maintaining my habit of reading and learning. While I was earning profits in the IPO market, I faced losses in the secondary market. Eventually, I started trading in the futures market, aiming to become a crorepati in a short time. Inspired by stories of Harshad Mehta, I began taking big bets in the futures market. In 1997, I returned to my hometown, Ara, in Bihar and started a sub-brokerage business. I also opened a coaching center, teaching physics to students of classes XI and XII to generate additional income. However, I lost all the money I had earned from my job in the futures market and accumulated a debt of approximately ₹12 lakhs. Between 1996 and 2006, I suffered total losses of around ₹20 lakhs. In 2006, I completely gave up futures trading and focused on learning stock market investing through books, magazines, and newspapers. It was a tough journey, but I was determined to fulfill my dreams. My coaching business also suffered due to my trading losses, but I continued to teach students and work as a sub-broker for clients. To clear some urgent debts, I sold my Yamaha RX 100 bike and some jewellery. In 2008, I managed to triple my capital from ₹1 lakh to ₹3 lakhs. I sold all my holdings at the market peak that year and purchased an HCL desktop for From 2009 to 2014, my client base grew, and I gradually reduced my debt.I placed a big bet on the general elections during the rise of the Modi government, turning my ₹3 lakh capital into ₹42 lakhs—14 times the original amount. This became my base capital.I also started a new career as a mutual fund distributor and stock market trainer. This is the story of my journey in life.
