Gautham is a Data Scientist with over six years of research, industry, and teaching experience. Broadly, his interests center around using causal inference and machine learning algorithms for supporting decision-making under uncertainty. His PhD thesis proposed adaptive experimentation algorithms for hyperparameter optimization of machine learning models, active learning, and online evaluation of machine learning models. The work from his thesis is productionalized at a large medical device manufacturer for hyperparameter tuning of Deep Neural Networks with applications to critical-to-quality visual inspection of over 4 million medical devices.
