ABOUT SUNDAR RAJAN

If somebody asks me how I got interested towards Electrical Engineering, I would happily rewind my clock by around 13-14 years. That was the year in which the the ever moving electrons decided to run into my body through an Electric Shock. Though it pumped up my heart beats, little did I know that it would form the foundation which was needed to step into the Electrical World. I started becoming curious about all the electrical appliances that could produce a shock. I was intrigued by these fascinating devices which led to developing an understanding of these even more. It was this undying curiosity that evoked immense interest which eventually let my path into the world of “Electricity”. I gazed at any electrical items that I happen to see and ask questions to find out more.Although this curiosity towards knowing things sparked my interest towards this distinguished area, the chance to pursue my undergraduate study in Electrical and Electronics Engineering exposed me to the greater details of this enormous field. Through my Undergraduate study, I got acquainted with the heterogeneity of this field ranging from the Megawatt Machines to the Milliwatt Circuits. Just like all the first experiences in life are to be cherished, I relished my first steps into the Professional World by working with Tata Consultancy Services. Over the course of these 2+ years, I learnt the art of commanding Computers through my own codes and programs. Life at TCS transformed me to be a better Engineer and more specifically, a better human being. Though I had developed a comfortable niche in my Professional Career, the deep passion towards Power and Energy had always enticed and captivated me. It is this sheer love or I can say my first love towards electricity and anything connected to it which I am always drawn to. It might me this innate desire which has been kept alive somewhere in my heart and today it has made me to arrive at the next destination- NC State University.
