I am contributing to the development of next-generation parametric human body models to support adaptive and inclusive safety system design. As part of the cervical spine sub-team within UMTRI’s research initiative, I focus on constructing statistical geometry models from CT images that capture anatomical variability across age, sex, stature, and weight. This work involves segmenting high-resolution spine images and using mesh morphing techniques to map baseline anatomical structures onto subject-specific data. The resulting 3D models enhance the accuracy of finite element human body models and anthropomorphic test devices (ATDs), enabling more representative simulations and better safety outcomes for diverse populations.

Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI), passionate about advancing occupant safety, biomechanics, and inclusive design.Currently, I focus on developing parametric human body models using cervical spine CT data to represent diverse body types in automotive crash research. This work supports statistical analysis that enhances the design of anthropomorphic test devices (ATDs) and improves the biofidelity of digital human models ultimately contributing to safer vehicles for everyone.🧠 Research Focus:Safety equity and inclusive designMedical image analysis and anatomical data processing Industry Experience - Autoliv:Worked across CAD and PLM systems, supporting engineering change processes, PPAP documentation, and technical visualization efforts. Worked extensively on retractor, buckle, tongue, and seatbelt components, and was involved in designing both functional and attribute gauges. Supported global engineering teams and technical centers across Japan, the USA, Thailand, China, and Brazil.Additionally, I played an active role as a member of the internal innovation magazine’s editorial team, contributing to content development and cross-functional engagement. FSAE Experience - Team Arion:Served in both technical and leadership roles for over four years, contributing to the design and assembly of powertrain components while managing garage operations and ensuring safety compliance. Led efforts in industry outreach, fundraising, and team strategy. Continued to support the team after graduation through mentorship and technical guidance.
