ABOUT SUMMER BIRD

I am Anishinaabe, an Ojibway leader, graphic designer and storyteller from Naotkamegwanning, Whitefish Bay FN, Ontario. In my current position at Deloitte, I am a graphic designer with a set priority for internal and external Indigenous development projects. Most recently I became an Ambassador of leadership in the One Young World community, joining a collective of world change-makers seeking equity in this world, and peace. I added teaching to my resume by preparing Indigenous youth for careers in Graphic Design with Focus Forward for Indigenous Youth. My storytelling often occurs while facilitating paint nights at colleges around the Williams treaty territory, attending the local Indigenous gatherings, and supporting local small businesses with design help. With a positive outlook and an appreciation for personal development and the little things in life, I bring a welcoming smile and fun personality to every work team I can join. I am passionate about diversity and social justice news and developments. With every move I make, I consider the importance of our effect on the world around us and provide healthy and meaningful solutions and interactions to my peer circle.
