ABOUT SUMIT MEHAN
Innovative Physicist with expertise in soft matter and energy materials, combining a deep understanding of scattering techniques (SANS, SAXS, DLS) with a passion for applying research in industrial settings, particularly in the fields of physical chemistry and material science. Soft Matter Research: A proven track record in exploring non-equilibrium nanoparticle-polyelectrolyte systems, protein-surfactant interactions, and complex multi-component systems. My work has significantly advanced the understanding of metastable aggregates, protein unfolding/refolding, and self-assembly processes. Energy Materials Research: Proficient in the structural characterization of hybrid electrolytes and nanocomposites within a PEO matrix for advanced lithium metal battery applications. Demonstrated expertise in redox-active polymer characterization for organic battery applications. Innovative Instrumentation Development: Developed an in-situ SAXS-DLS-Osmotic stress setup for the structural and dynamic study of Boehmite suspensions, a critical component in petroleum industry catalysts. Communication and Collaboration skills: A strong portfolio of 10 journal publications, 5 conference proceedings, and a wide range of international presentations, reflecting my communication skills and collaborative nature. Experience in user support and demonstrations at the SANS facility at Dhruva reactor, BARC, Mumbai. Skills in scientific programming (C++, Python, FORTRAN). I am eager to contribute my knowledge and experience to dynamic industrial R&D Projects, driving forward the frontiers of physical chemistry and material science.
