ABOUT SUMIT KALRA

Sumit has over sixteen (16) years of experience as a litigator. Sumit’s core practice and expertise is in the sphere of dispute resolution, and his experience as a dispute resolution lawyer is a balanced blend between advisory and litigation support. He has represented several foreign and Indian multinational corporations in high-stake dispute resolution matters. He is adept at delivering advisory support and litigation and arbitration support on contractual disputes of corporate-commercial nature. He has also handled various matters involving corporate insolvency & bankruptcy laws, consumer protection laws, real estate laws, insurance laws, disputes inter-se shareholders and management of corporations, etc. Sumit also has significant experience of handling matters involving corporate fraud, white-collar crimes, and other matters involving several cognizable and non-cognizable offenses under various criminal laws. His areas of focus in contentious matters also cover disputes over the inheritance of estate and other disputes of civil nature, commercial contracts involving breach of obligations, specific performance, recovery of contractual dues, liquidated damages, and enforcement of security and matrimonial disputes, etc. He regularly appears before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, various High Courts in the different Indian States, and other tribunals & forums. Sumit has represented Clients across multiple sectors such as real estate, construction and development, banking and financial services, insurance, brokerage firms, e-commerce players, electronics and automotive manufacturers, etc. Sumit has also served as a panel lawyer for reputed banks such as Oriental Bank of Commerce and Punjab National Bank, and possesses rich experience in banking and finance matters, having represented such banks in commercial litigation matters.
