ABOUT SUMAN AKULA

I am Akula Suman, a dedicated and passionate Mechanical Engineer currently pursuing my M.Tech in Manufacturing Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Warangal, where I maintain a CGPA of 8.6. My academic journey began with a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from JNTUH University College of Engineering, Hyderabad, with a CGPA of 8.66, and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Government Polytechnic, Parkal, with a remarkable 92.45%.My professional experience includes an internship at Wabtec Corporation (GE Transportation) in Bangalore. In this role, I enhanced locomotive safety through FEA-based design and crashworthiness assessments. I have executed the design and analysis of collision posts for Australian locomotives, developed Design FMEA for collision posts, and performed modal analysis of locomotive console panels. Additionally, I am involved in FEA post-processing for various load cases and addressing Supplier Deviation Requests and Product Change Requests. Currently, I am working on a reliability case for the fire suppression system in locomotives.My academic projects have honed my technical skills and analytical abilities. I have analyzed the effect of tool path strategies on mechanical properties in Friction Stir Additive Manufacturing and optimized process parameters of Al6082 on a CNC Lathe Machine using Grey-Taguchi analysis. These projects have deepened my understanding of material properties and machining processes.I am proficient in engineering software such as Ansys Workbench, UG NX, PLM Team Center, SpaceClaim, HyperMesh, HyperView, CREO, and AutoCAD. My certifications include an Ansys Training course from Udemy. My soft skills in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and teamwork, combined with my technical knowledge, equip me to tackle complex engineering challenges effectively.In addition to my technical and academic pursuits, I have held leadership roles such as Class Representative for my M.Tech program and Technical Coordinator for Connaissance, a national-level tech fest at JNTUH-UCEH. I am also an active volunteer in social activities and have achieved recognition in sports, securing second place in cricket at Sparkss’22.With a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and hands-on experience, I am eager to contribute to innovative projects and drive advancements in the field.
